Kikaua Point Beach Park Kikaua Point Beach Park, one of my favorite locations in Hawaii. It is only 20 minutes north from Kailua Kona. The weather is almost always sunny. The locations offers shade, Palm Trees, often but not always blue sky. Beautiful Ocean and many different backgrounds for a great variety of scenic shots.
Kikaua Point Beach Park 2 Kikaua Point Beach Park has often beautiful sunsets. My favorite session here is a three our session to catch blue sky and then stay for beautiful sunset photographs.
Kaloko Honokohau Marina Kaloko Honoko Marina Beach is probably my second favorite location. It is only 5 minutes north of Kailua Kona and a 5 minute walk from the parking lot. It has a lot of green sea turtles and beautiful small palm trees that look nice and tropical. The way the sun sets here often makes the ocean turn into this golden color.

Kukio Kukio is only 5 minutes from the Four Seasons. Even so it looks like a nice beach and gives some opportunities for some scenic shots there are no palm trees and no shade. The sand is very deep and it is difficult to walk here a lot of times there are people enjoying the beach and appear in the background of each photograph.
Black Sand Beach The black sand beach is about 2 hours drive from Kona and thee hour drive from the resorts up north. It always looks beautiful in the travel books. But don't let that fool you. If you want to be on the black sand and have it look black and clean without any deb-re there is no shade. Tour busses with tourists stop there frequently. The only time where it is not to hot is at 8 in the morning. But which bride wants to get up at 4 to get ready? If you choose this beach make sure you bring a sunbrella and wear more powder than you normally would. It will get hot.  
City of Refuge City of Refuge or Pu`uhonua o Honaunau is beautiful early in the morning. The sky is blue in the morning and the water reflects in all shades of blue, which is a nice contrast against the black Lava. The best time is early in the morning. It gets very hot later in the morning and there is no shade. Make sure to bring a fashionable sunbrella for the photos. It is almost always overcast in the afternoons and often raining. Plan at least 45 minutes to drive from Kailua-Kona.
