Rustic serenity

When you imagine a Hawaiian beach wedding, you are likely thinking of the splendid Kohanaiki Beach just 10 minutes north of Kailua Kona. Kohanaiki offers the iconic white sand and turquoise water we’ve come to expect from Hawaii’s pristine beaches, and it is easily accessible by car with plenty of parking. Though it is a popular spot for surfers, the beach isn’t over developed and remains a serene and natural spot on the Big Island.

A Classic Wedding On The Beach

Kohanaiki is one of our favorite wedding locations because of its classic beauty and easy accessibility. This is the perfect beach to marry under a rustic arch as your guests look on from comfortable cushions in the sand. For receptions, we love to plan a beach picnic or barbeque a short walk from the site of the ceremony where you may toast your union with your guests.

Important Notes about Kohanaiki Beach

The weather is consistently good at Kohanaiki, and there’s plenty of shade throughout the beach. Kohanaiki permits weddings up to 20 people, and it is one of the few beaches where it is permitted to stay after sunset.
