Hawaii COVID-19 Wedding Information

Aloha,

Over two years after the first COVID cases were detected in Hawaii, we have made it past lock downs, mask mandates and gathering restrictions. We have adjusted to a new normal, that includes testing of our team right away, when anybody has symptoms and self quarantining. We are extra cautious when we are in crowds, so we don’t put our couples and their loved ones at risk. As we are getting closer to the winter months where higher COVID infections are expected, outdoor beach weddings in Hawaii are still safer than indoor weddings, and the risk of infection can be kept at a minimum.

Until further notice the restrictions below are NOT in effect.

We at Beach Glass Weddings are continuing to monitor the impacts of COVID-19, and we are happy to announce that we are continuing our work. The health of our clients is of the utmost importance to us so we have been adapting our business practices to ensure a safe and joyous time for all our clients on their big day. We are here for you through the ups and downs of planning your wedding during this pandemic, and we'll continue to update our guide on all things related to weddings and COVID-19 as new information is available from our Governor, the CDC and WHO.

Previous COVID restrictions no longer in effect:

Hawaii COVID-19 Quarantine

All unvaccinated arrivals to Hawaii from the Continental United States must show a negative COVID-19 test that is no older than 72 hours. Trans-Pacific unvaccinated travelers arriving WITHOUT a confirmed negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of departure are subject to a mandatory 10-day quarantine. The state of Hawaii will ONLY accept Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT) from a certified Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA) lab test results from TRUSTED TESTING AND TRAVEL PARTNERS at https://hawaiicovid19.com/travel-partners . All unvaccinated travelers must have a negative test result BEFORE beginning the final leg of their trip. Anyone without a negative test result PRIOR to departure must quarantine upon arrival if unvaccinated. The negative test result must be uploaded onto Safe Travels prior to departure or printed out prior to departure and hard copy in hand when arriving in Hawai‘i.

Your 10-day quarantine begins on the day you enter the State if you did not participate in the Pre-Travel Testing Program.

Hawaii Event Size Restrictions

Events that include less than 10 people are permitted in the state of Hawaii. Except as otherwise permitted in rule No. 14, this means that less than 10 people are permitted at the beach for a wedding celebration. We at Beach Glass Weddings apply for exemptions with the Civil Defense if you have more than 10 people at your wedding. We need a minimum of 30 days notice for the applications to get approved. (https://www.hawaiicounty.gov/Home/Components/News/News/2789/720?selcat=148) and pursuant to Exhibit 6, indoor social gatherings of groups up to ten (10) persons are permitted and outdoor gatherings of groups up to 10 person are permitted. As of May 25, 2021, face coverings are no longer required outdoors. As of August 5th face coverings are recommended for gatherings outdoors for larger groups. Physical distancing of at least six (6) feet between separate groups must be maintained. Members of a single residential or family unit who share the same address are not restricted. We have many packages that are already tailored to smaller parties so we will be able to offer you a customized and beautiful ceremony regardless of the current events. If you are unsure which package would be right for you, feel free to reach out.

Post-Arrival Testing

For international travelers arriving in the State of Hawai‘i from Japan, Canada, Korea, Taiwan, Philippines and Tahiti, only tests from Trusted Testing Partners will be accepted for purposes of bypassing the State’s 10-day traveler quarantine including any tests verified through the State’s Digital Health Pass Partners – AZOVA, CLEAR and CommonPass. Travelers originating from any other international destination and coming directly to Hawai‘i do not have the ability to test for purposes of bypassing the State’s 10-day traveler quarantine.

Vaccinated Travelers

Travelers entering the state from the U.S. and its Territories who have been fully vaccinated in the United States (including its Territories) may bypass quarantine without a pre-travel test. The vaccination record document must be uploaded to Safe Travels and printed out prior to departure and the traveler must have a hard copy in hand when arriving in Hawaiʻi. Hawaii destination wedding guide

Check out our guide for comprehensive information on your dream Hawaii destination wedding.

Being outdoors, our weddings are a great option to experience an extraordinary and safe union that will create spectacular memories for you and your family for years to come, and most of our packages include photography so that you will be able to share your special ceremony with all of your loved ones once the pandemic is over. With a videographer, you could even capture the entirety of the day and be able to premiere the video to your family and friends once large gatherings are allowed again. At the moment beaches are open and require social distancing and masks for weddings.

Planning Future Events

We can also start planning events for 2021. Many venues are taking tentative reservations for 2021, so now is the perfect time to start planning if you’re looking ahead to next year.

Advisement on COVID-19 is rapidly evolving so please visit the website of Governor David Y. Ige or see this post from the State of Hawaii for the latest updates and proclamations from the state.

We look forward to seeing you all soon!
